Lamar
LAMAR is a range of large-format porcelain slabs in the special size of 320cm x 80cm. Porcelain slabs are one of the best surfaces currently available for covering your countertops, walls and other areas. LAMAR's design range resembles natural marble and adds an elegant look to living spaces.
Porcelain slabs are made of fine clay and minerals and fired in a kiln at temperatures reaching 1000 °C. Thanks to the high temperatures and their composition, these slabs have negligible water absorption and resist heat and ultraviolet light.
Advantages
- Resistant to Ultraviolet Light and Heat: High temperatures, heat and prolonged exposure to sunlight have no colour-changing effect on LAMAR slabs.
- Durability: LAMAR has remarkable strength and impact resistance. Its MOR (modulus of rupture) value is at least 40N/mm2 (granite: 13.8N/mm2).
- Chemical Resistance: LAMAR surfaces resist acids and alkaline solutions, including lemon, vinegar and household cleaning solutions.
- Water Resistance: One of the reasons LAMAR surfaces need little maintenance is their negligible water absorption. This makes them naturally hygienic and antibacterial.
- Frost Resistant: Because of their low water absorption and porosity, LAMAR slabs withstand freeze/thaw conditions with minimal to no effect. As a result, they can be used in areas that experience sub-zero temperatures.
- Stain Resistant: Because LAMAR slabs have a very low porosity, liquids and chemicals such as bleach, hydrochloric acid and other cleaning agents do not penetrate the surface. It does not dull from spills (even vinegar or lemon juice) and is easily cleaned by wiping.
